We’ll grind 1 stump to 100.
Tri-County Stump Grinding travels throughout Central and North Mississippi. Call Lance Evans and he’ll come look at it.
Estimates are free. The number rings Lance, not an office.

The tree is gone. The stump is still yours.
A stump does not rot away on any schedule you’d be happy with, and until it’s out you are mowing around it, mulching around it and explaining it to whoever next looks at the yard.
It grows back
Cut a hardwood off at the ground and a lot of species will send shoots straight back up out of the stump and the roots. Grinding it out ends that.

It is in the way
Mower blades, string trimmers, ankles, a fence line you want to run, a slab you want to pour. A stump sits exactly where you didn’t want anything.

It can be gone today
Most single stumps are a short job. The machine drives to it, grinds it out below grade, and the grindings go back into the hole.

Four steps, and you don’t have to do any of them.
-
You show us
Point at the stumps
Mark them, flag them, or just walk out and point. If there are a lot of them, that’s fine — that is the job we like.

-
We get to it
Drive the machine in
The SC352 is self-propelled on four wheels, so it walks to the stump under its own power instead of being dragged across your yard.

-
The cutting
Grind it out below grade
The wheel sweeps side to side and takes the stump down past ground level, then keeps going into the root flare where it needs to.

-
Before we leave
Grindings back in the hole
The blade on the front pushes the pile back where the stump was and it gets raked out. You are left with a mound of chips, not a crater.

Straight answers, with the numbers.
How deep do you grind?
The SC352 will cut to 14 inches below grade and sweeps a 40 inch path. Most yards do not need all of it — a few inches under the surface is enough to put grass back over the top. If you are replanting a tree in the same spot, or pouring something, say so and we go deeper.

What happens to all the chips?
They go back into the hole. That is what the blade on the front of the machine is for. What you are left with is a mound of wood grindings sitting slightly proud of the lawn, which settles over the following weeks.
We do not haul the grindings off as a matter of course. If you want them gone rather than left, ask before we start and we’ll talk about it.

Can you get it into my back yard?
Usually. The SC352 is a compact four-wheel machine, not a tractor, and it goes through gates, down side passages and up against fences, walls and landscaping. Several of the jobs on this site were ground within inches of a chain-link fence, a patio and a propane tank.
Tell us about the gate when you call. Give us the width and whether there is a step or a slope, and Lance will tell you straight away whether it fits.

How big, and how many?
Big or small, we grind them all. One stump by the mailbox or a hundred across a field — it is the same machine and the same phone call. The big hardwood below took the full sweep of the wheel.

A Vermeer SC352. Not “modern equipment”.
Everybody in this trade says they run good equipment. Here is ours, by name, with the manufacturer’s numbers next to it, and it is in almost every photograph on this website.

A customer’s comment
“Great job at my house.”
That is the one we have, so that is the one we are showing you. This is a young business with a real machine and a real phone number, not a wall of reviews.
If we have already been out to your place, we would be glad to have your words here too. Say so when you call, or leave it on our Facebook page.
Out of Vaiden, across Central and North Mississippi.
The truck and trailer are based at Vaiden in Carroll County, and the machine travels. If you are within a reasonable drive and you have stumps, call and ask — Lance will tell you yes or no on the phone rather than waste your time.

Got stumps?
Call Lance Evans and describe what you have got. Estimates are free, and the number goes straight to the man who runs the machine.
